The Grades 4 to 6 students of the Elementary Department bested 49 other schools in the Philippine KooBits Wizard Competition for August and September 2017.
The Grades 4 to 6 students garnered a total of 86,410 challenge points, way ahead of the second placer who garnered 46,980 points. In fact, the Grades 4 to 6 students combined solved over 54,000 Math questions in just a month and a half during the competition period.
This means that majority of our students are not just actively practicing Math using the KooBits Math portal but their interest and level of motivation in learning the subject is high.
KooBits is the top online math portal from Singapore for Grades 1 to 6 that strengthens math foundation concepts while focusing on developing problem solving and nurturing interest in learning Math.
In KooBits, students have to practice answering Math problems consistently to earn points that encourage all students, regardless of ability, to develop interest and confidence in Math as well as to compete in online Math competitions across different schools in the Philippines and win prizes.
Other schools in the competition include St. Jude Catholic School, MGC New Life Academy, Miriam College, De La Salle Zobel, Singapore School, Reedley International School, among others.
We are extremely proud of our students and deem this as a truly remarkable achievement since the Wizard competition involves:
1) whole batch efforts instead of the usual handful of students who go off to join competitions, and
2) consistency of effort and increased interest in math learning for a greater majority of our students over a longer period of time.
Our most heartfelt congratulations to the very hard-working and persevering Grades 4 to 6 students, their supportive parents, and their teachers who have instilled among them the value of learning.
To God be the glory!
