No. We were not angry.
In line with JCA’s aim of providing cultural exposures to students to deepen their understanding and appreciation of their Chinese heritage, the Elementary Department simply chose to wear red to school on February 4, 2019 in anticipation of the Chinese New Year.
A sea of red could be seen in every corner of the D. Hemady Campus on that day.
Some even came attired in traditional Chinese fashion. Lexus Gabriel C. Tan (1-Tulip) and Callie Ashley S. Dy (1-Tulip) were chosen as the best in Chinese costume competition.
The Chinese Area also helped the Grades 3-4 students prepare for a presentation on this day. They performed their own rendition of “感谢歌.” This performance was followed by a guessing game with students and personnel eagerly participating in it.
Throughout the day, excitement was in the air. Everyone looked forward to the celebrations they will have with their family and friends.
