Outspoken!

Candid… honest… free-hearted!

These are among the synonyms given by Merriam-Webster for the word outspoken. These descriptions are apt to describe the class representatives of Grades 5 and 6 to the first ever simulated TED Talk activity of Jubilee Christian Academy last November 29, 2019.

The original TED (Technology, Entertainment, Design) Talk is a showcase for speakers presenting great, well-formed ideas in under 18 minutes. These talks are videos created from a presentation at the main TED Conference or one of its many satellite events around the world.

The Jubilee TED speakers shared their thoughts on topics such as caring for the environment, time management, and values. One of them even an appeal to extend the recess time.

The Grade 5 students were represented by Grant Travis N. Wong (5-Euclid), Fredy Rafael B. Too (5-Kepler) and Rachel Cassidy U. Young (5-Napier).

This portion in the English and ERC co-curricular activity highlighted the communication skills and talents that these students have. It also allowed the JCA community to see how far along is JCA in its goal of equipping students with the 21st Century Skills.

The announcement of the winners for this Ted Talk will be on Monday, December 2, 2019. Nevertheless, we would like to say congratulations to all. You did great!
