Slice of Life: Paper Airplanes

If you know how a paper plane is made
Go make one and fly it high.
Let it pick up speed on the wind it needs
And send me one via the big blue sky!
— Linda Winchell, Paper Airplanes

This news article will start the “Slice of Life” series on the Elementary News Page. It will feature stories for everyone to have a glimpse at the student life in the Doña Hemady Campus.

Science

The ones in the pictures did not make paper airplanes just for fun. In reality, the Grade 6 students of Mrs. Mitzi Dy were on the Doña Hemady Quadrangle to learn.

The students made different designs and predicted which one would fly the farthest. They applied their knowledge of the scientific method in the process of finding out the best paper airplane design for this activity.

For some of them, their planes flew high and received cheers from their classmates. For others, it was not the case. They are the ones who received encouragement to try out the other designs.
