A JCA Special Chapel Service: Are We Living in the End Times by Cate Ong, 10-Solomon

On March 5, 2021, Dr. Stephen G. Tan, Senior Pastor of Grace Christian Church of the Philippines, shared his message on “Are We Living in the End Times?” to the JCA Junior and Senior High School students, Personnel, parents, and community partners.

The special chapel service, held via Zoom, from 8:00 to 10:00 am, was moderated by Mr. Enrique R. Sabacan, Junior and Senior High School Mathematics Coordinator. Kelcey Ching of G12 Martin Luther led the opening prayer; then, selected Grade 11 and 12 students led the congregation in the Praise and Worship singing.

Dr. Tan talked about eschatology, the study of the end times, and challenged Jubileans to take a strong stand against false prophets who will try to deceive them. He listed the seven biblical signs of the end times: financial instability / economic collapse, moral decay, religious apostasy, emergence of satanic activity, knowledge and travel, frequent occurrences of supernatural events, and the rise of military and political powers. Dr. Tan shared these to remind the JCA community to put their trust in the Lord, to live by faith, and to do good to others whenever possible as John 9:4 says “We must work the works of Him who sent me while it is day; night is coming, when no one can work.”

The special chapel service was capped with a question and answer portion to answer and clarify some queries of the attendees. After the question and answer portion, Dr. Tan prayed for those who accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, those who have recommitted their lives in serving our God, and for the JCA community to always put their faith and trust in the Lord, especially during these difficult times.

The chapel service left the attendees with joyful and grateful hearts as it filled them with a sense of greater purpose and meaning that we can live each day for the Lord without fear because God is in control of everything.
