JCA Volleyball Team Bags Championship Title in LSMS

Last October 18, 2014, the Jubilee Christian Academy Volleyball Varsity Team claimed the championship title at the League of Southern Manila Schools (LSMS) tournament, winning 3 sets out of 5 with scores of 25-10, 25-11, and 25-19 respectively. The championship match, played against MGC New Life Christian Academy, was held at Brent International School.

This was not the first time the team fought against MGC. JCA’s volleyball varsity team faced the same team during the earlier part of the season and unfortunately lost. The team did not let the loss get to them, training hard so that they could beat them the next time they had a match. In the end, all the hard work and dedication paid off, and the team snagged the championship trophy and claimed victory.

During the game, two of JCA’s volleyball varsity players received recognition for their remarkable gameplay. Patricia Therese G. Co and Maelyn Kristal C. Ko, both from Grade 10- Service, were hailed the Most Valuable Player and Member of the “Mythical 6,” respectively.

“It was really amazing. All our efforts to gain exposure, with only God by our side, have paid off. We couldn’t be any happier and more proud of each other. We can only wish that we’ll be given more chances to play for our school and have more of these great moments,” said Patricia Co
