JHS Equips Its Pre-AP Team in the ‘New Normal’

COVID-19 may have temporarily closed all schools and prevented the teachers from enjoying the summer break seminars in spacious halls with big crowds, learning face-to-face from experts, and socializing with fellow educators, but teachers and instructional leaders considered this pandemic as an adaptive and transformative opportunity to learn through virtual seminars in order to deliver quality education to students.

This school year 2020-2021, Jubilee Christian Academy will roll it in the Junior High School the Pre-AP Program. Two Pre-AP subjects will be offered to Grades 9 and 10 each. To fully equip the teachers and instructional leaders, they attended a six-hour online foundational module organized and hosted by the College Board, an organization that helps students transition from high school to college through their international programs such as the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT), Advanced Placement (AP) Program, and Pre-AP. Moreover, aside from completing online training, they also participated in Virtual Cohort participated in my fellow educators for deeper engagement in the program.

Jubilee Christian Academy takes pride in this personnel who have undergone the College Board Online Foundational Modules for Pre-AP and the Pre-AP Virtual Cohorts.

  • Frances Rea R. Gaza, Junior High School Principal, received a certificate on Pre-AP Leadership Online Foundational Module.
  • Mara Denisse M. Diwa, Ms. Ma. Anna Louzell O. Manabat, Grade 10 English Teachers, and Ms. Charmaine R. Dasco received certificates on Pre-AP English Online Foundational Module.
  • Carl John B. Abanador, Ms. Maria Angelica A. Bagcal, Grade 9 Mathematics Teachers, and Mr. Enrique R. Sabacan, Mathematics Coordinator, received certificates on Pre-AP Geometry and Statistics Online Foundational Module.

No time zone difference hindered the JHS Pre-AP Team from participating in these professional learning communities to ensure everyone is equipped as JHS ventures in Pre-AP.
