Let’s Talk Love By Eliza Tan and Gillian Tiu of 8-Aristotle

February is always a good month to talk about love. It was a fitting time for the Grade 8 students to take part in the Love Forum, an annual Christian Formation Department (CFD) offering aimed at helping G8 students understand more about love and their relationship with God and with others.

The activity held last February 11, 2020 at the JE Chapel was filled with fun through a game where students had to locate pieces of coloured papers posted under their chairs which contained portions of the verse from 1 Corinthians 13:4-5. The first team to complete the entire verse in their color wins the game.

The video “Is Teenage Love Real?”tackled a very crucial issue for young ones these days—people having mixed feelings and definition on what true love is. Dr. Jon Kho, a JCA alumnus, and his wife, Mrs. Ivy Kho spent individual concurrent sessions with the girls and boys, respectively, where they shared the godly view on love that everyone should have. After the sessions, Dr. Kho spoke about true love anchored on God’s love for us.

The Grade 8 students had a worthwhile time to learn more about true love in light of the Christian perspective.
