Hooray For Our Firefighters!

Community helpers are everywhere.

The third quarter 2nd lesson of Nursery introduces them to the different community helpers who work tirelessly to make life better for others.  To make the lesson more interesting, their teacher, Ms. Maria Sophia Laurente invited some community helpers to speak to the students online through Google Meet.

First to visit on February 9, 2021 are the firefighters.

Firefighters Mr. Lou Leonard Suner and Mr. Alexander Pinpin showed their personal protective equipments such as helmet, fire coat and pants, Personal Alert Safety System (PASS), gloves, and boots. They explained how each gear help them in their work as firefighters.  They also reminded the students to stay safe and not play with fire.

At the end of the session, the students had a chance to ask questions from the visitors.  Questions such as “Is it difficult to become a firefighter?”, “How heavy is your uniform?”,  “Are there girl firefighters?”, and “If there is fire, what number are we going to call?” were answered patiently by Mr. Suner and Mr. Pinpin.

The students appreciated the firefighters for the work that they do. A Nursery student said “Firefighters are cool!”. We could not agree more.
