JCA’s very own, JHS and SHS Art teacher, Miss Maria Aileen Viñas, exhibited her painting, “22B: Act 5”, in the Frequency Art Exhibit 2020 at the Pinto Art Museum, last February 2 to 16,  2020.

Her masterpiece captures the beauty in nature. Ms. Viñas shared, “I painted a dragonfly because it is an indicator of whether a place is still in good shape. Dragonflies live where there is clean air and clean source of water.”

Her inspiration in creating her masterpiece was her way of life as a vegetarian and her advocacy in saving the environment. She quipped, “The animal industry produces a lot of environmental waste. These are the primary pollutants in our environment. It is my goal to help save the environment and to encourage everyone to do their part for future generations.”

Ms. Vinas continues to inspire her students in JCA to express themselves and their advocacy through arts. Kudos, Ms. Vinas! Your JCA family is proud of you.
